About the Chicago
Chapter
Our members are generally from the Chicago area, but all are welcome
to join.
The IoPP Chicago Chapter is the local chapter of the national non-profit
professional organization, Institute of Packaging Professionals. The main
focus of our organization has been education in it's many forms, and
providing the opportunity to network, meet, and develop relationships with
other professionals in the packaging industry. We have monthly meetings,
which are by tradition on the second Tuesday of each month. Our annual
golf
outing is very popular. We also work closely with the Women in Packaging
organization, with occasional joint meetings. The members of our chapter
are from the Chicago area, but all are welcome to join.
Our membership comes from a wide range of packaging disciplines. They are
involved in various aspects of packaging, including but not limited to
individuals in Package design, Purchasing, contract packaging, Packaging
engineering, Packaging machinery / equipment, sales, marketing,
manufacturing,
transportation, packaging materials, brokers and distributors, printing
and
quality control. Other individuals may be involved in packaging continuing
education as well as Colleges and Universities.
We offer tours, events, continuing education programs, certification
assistance,
and
career opportunities. See our Events Calendar for upcoming
dinner meetings and events. Next meeting details are posted on the
Home page, and an email invitation goes out each month to current members.
